The HP Shift Assistant Pro minimizes clutch use between setting off and stopping, making every gear shift faster and easier. Electronic suspension control via Dynamic ESA ensures optimum suspension performance. For those who want to get the very most out of their bike will opt for the Pro riding modes - available from BMW Motorrad for the first time - with two highly dynamic set-ups plus ABS Pro for maximum braking safety in the curves.

• Dynamic Traction Control

The BMW DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) system continuously monitors rear wheel traction under acceleration. If a loss of traction is detected, the system intervenes to control unwanted rear wheel spin. The DTC system is unique since it incorporates information from a lean angle sensor to optimize the system’s performance, especially when the motorcycle is banked into a turn.

• Gear Shift Assistant Pro

A landmark innovation for motorcycle technology, Gear Shift Assist Pro allows for smooth, seamless upshifting and downshifting without operating the clutch or throttle.

• Ride Modes Pro

On top of the standard "Rain" and "Road" Ride Mode settings, this option adds a third "Dynamic" mode. This mode gives the ride a sportier feel, increasing throttle response and turning off some functions of the Adaptive Stability Control.

BMW’s cornering-optimised ABS uses a sensor box to continually monitor the ride characteristics of the motorcycle to compute the maximum gradient for braking-pressure build-up.  As a result, the tendency of the motorcycle to straighten up when the brakes are applied during cornering is reduced to a minimum, taking banked braking to a new level in terms of stopping power, directional stability, and safety.
