5” TFT FULL COLOUR SCREEN WITH CONNECTIVITY AND NAVIGATION

Full colour 5-inch TFT instruments provide an option of four different themes to suit your individual requirements and riding situation, which you can scroll through using the all-new handlebar switches.

The 889 cc liquid-cooled 3-cylinder produces high-torque out of a lightweight package to produce a powerful yet playful MT that emits a beautiful sound to enhance the feeling of acceleration thanks to its tuned intake and exhaust. The MT-09’s fuel injection system increases efficiency, while optimized gear ratios and its assist-and-slipper clutch match the higher output of the EU5-compliant engine.

- YCC-T electronically controls throttle valves for outstanding throttle response & controllability
- YCC-T system provides precise control of intake air volume for a smoother torque curve
- ECU that controls YCC-T is capable of responding to changes at a speed of 1000th of a second
Traction control system with 2 modes plus off.
- mode 1 provides mid-level intervention (allows some wheel spin)
- mode 2 provides maximum intervention (no wheel spin)

A fully adjustable 41 mm front fork uses optimized settings that match the character of the compact high-rigidity frame and reduce the tendency to pitch, giving a smoother and more controlled ride. The adjustable rear suspension features new settings as well as a revised linkage to match the all-new, high-rigidity swingarm.

An all-new, horizontally mounted 5” TFT full colour screen offers the rider an attractive new interface with the choice of four different themes to suit a range of different riding experiences.

Smartphone connectivity and navigation

For an enriched riding experience, connectivity comes as standard on the MT-09 via a built-in Communication Control Unit (CCU) meaning riders can stay connected while riding by linking their smartphone with their machine via the free Y-Connect app.

Intuitive new switchgear

New integrated handlebar switch assemblies enable the rider to operate the wider range of functions of the new MT-09, including smartphone connectivity, navigation and riding modes as well as navigating the further menu options.

The new up and down Quick Shifter System enhances the sport riding experience by enabling super-fast upshifts for outstanding acceleration. The downshift function allows smoother shifting to maintain chassis stability even when cornering, to give a more controlled feel when decelerating.
