The lightweight box-section perimeter frame is made from high-tensile steel for exceptional rigidity and strength. The KLX140R L features larger wheels (F19”, R16”), taller seat height (800 mm [31.5 in]) and higher 255 mm (10.0 in) ground clearance, while the KLX140R F features full-size wheels (F21”, R18”) and 315 mm (12.4 in) ground clearance.

The high-revving, 144cc, air-cooled SOHC 4-stroke single easily starts with the push of a button. The air-cooled engine eliminates the need for radiators while keeping the chassis slim and lightweight. The 5-speed transmission with manual clutch delivers smooth shifting and acceleration.
